My First Squidoo Lens

Hello!!

Hope you're all having a good day. I published my first Squidoo Lens today!! I've been wanting to start writing lenses for quite awhile and never got around to it. Well, this morning...wide awake in the wee hours of the morning...lol...I decided to give it a shot. So I started my venture into lens writing by making my first lens about me...an introduction I guess...thought it was an appropriate place to start.

I figured I'd mention it here in case anyone is curious to learn a bit more about me and my company. Stop over and give it a read when you have some time... My First Squidoo Lens ~ Debi Auger ...and I hope you'll sign the guestbook I put at the end of it and introduce yourself :)

All the best,
Debi

Loving You to Infinity Necklace Featured in Collection

My Loving You to Infinity Necklace has been featured in a Curated Collection by DustyPixiesCreations on ArtFire called "Curators." She chose items from the shops of each of the curators of her favorite collections. What a neat idea!

Loving You to Infinity ~ Blue Abstract Dichroic Necklace OOAK

I don't usually do bead weaving, but the design just came to me so I went with it. That's one of the things about my jewelry... there's no particular "style" to it. I just let my artistic muse go and follow her wherever she takes me. The results are usually pretty good...LOL. I was happy with this one. Letting that pendant go though, not so much. It was made by Tom Heath of Sanctuary Glass and I had every intention of keeping that little work of art for myself! It's dichroic glass and the colors are amazing. Try as I might I could not get the beauty of this piece to come through in the photos. I think I took hundreds of them trying. Product photography...the thorn in my side. Ooooh, but that's a rant for another time :)

Heart Disease Awareness Bracelets

This is Heart Disease Awareness Month. PaleMoonCreations put together a great Curated Collection on ArtFire in honor of that and she included two of my Heart Disease Awareness Bracelets!

I sell custom-made Awareness Bracelets for all causes in all colors. And if you're not sure what color represents the cause that's near and dear to your heart, check out the Awareness Ribbon Colors and Meanings Lists on my website. One lists them in alphabetical order by cause and the other in alphabetical order by color.

And, if there is a cause that's special to you in some way, please share it with us because I'll also consider it for my Jewelry for Charity Program.

Wire-Wrapped Red Heart Pendant Included in a Valentine's Day Gift Idea Collection

Valentine's Day is coming. I'm excited to have one of my wire-wrapped pendants included in CrochetKiosk's King of Hearts Curated Collection on ArtFire. She put together a great group of red heart gift ideas...

You can't see the whole pendant in the photo, but here it is...
Red Heart Glass Wire-Wrapped Pendant in Silver OOAK

I have a tendency to use hearts fairly often in my work so it's a great place to look for Valentine's Day gifts...or any time you need a gift that says 'I Love You.' Here's a link that will take you to a search results page of my studio for keyword HEARTS.

Well, I was reassured today that summer will indeed come. I ventured into Target while running errands and guess what I found........flip-flops!!!! Yes, it was 21 degrees here in Rhode Island and I very happily walked out of Target with (among other things) 4 pairs of flip-flops!! A girl can never have too many pairs of flip-flops...I buy them in pretty much every color I find and I have quite the collection :-) Pretty soon I'm going to need a closet just for them...uh-oh!

February Jewelry for Charity Set

Well, a bit behind schedule, but I finally got the February Jewelry for Charity Pieces done. I decided to make a set this month ~ a bracelet and earrings with a heart theme... seemed a perfect fit... Valentine's Day is coming, it's American Heart Month and the charity is the American Heart Association. And I love hearts so I never need a reason to incorporate them... it happens alot!

Designs by Debi Handmade Jewelry for Charity one-of-a-kind Lampwork Jewelry Set Romantic Victorian Valentine. Bracelet and Earrings set with red lampwork hearts, Bali sterling silver hearts, Swarovski crystal ab bicones, white Swarovski pearls, a Swarovski crystal red heart and a delicate sterling silver filigree heart toggle clasp. ooak

What d'ya think? When it came together it just had kind of a victorian look to it, very romantic with the crystals and pearls. The lampwork hearts are great. They were made by Joyce O'Shea from Lampwork by Joyce. She calls them sugar hearts. They remind me of strawberries sprinkled with sugar.

I'm still open to suggestions for a charity for March. I haven't chosen it yet....

Well, I'm excited to say that for the first time in like 6 weeks it's not snowing on a Tuesday night. Now that's progress!! And the Red Sox equipment trailer left for Florida today. Thank God... spring must be on the way :)

Fourth of July Fireworks in Honor of Those Who Serve Bracelet Featured in a Great Patriotic Collection

I'm honored once again to have one of my bracelets featured in a Curated Collection on ArtFire. It's FourCornersUSA's Love of Country Collection and she selected my 'Fourth of July Fireworks in Honor of Those Who Serve' Bracelet to be a part of it. I L♥ve flags so this is an awesome collection with lots of great items:

I especially love GlassCat's heart-shaped flag suncatcher. It's beautiful!

And, speaking of flags and Fourth of July, I'm ready for summer! I've had enough of all this snow! It's piled so high in my front yard I think it's going to be here until July!! I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee and I can't even see over the snow to back out of my driveway..it's well over the top of my truck...how scary is that?? And they're watching 3 more storms. I HATE snow! I'm ready for Spring, Summer, sunshine, another hibiscus plant and my flip-flops...LOL. How 'bout you?

Valentine Hearts for Haiti OOAK Handmade Sterling & Lampwork Bracelet

This bracelet is one of my Jewelry for Charity bracelets. Every month I select a charity, create a one-of-a-kind piece (or set) of jewelry and donate 50% of the proceeds to that charity. You can find out about the program on my website's Jewelry for Charity page.

I accept suggestions for charities so if there's one that's special to you, let me know. This month's charity is going to be the American Heart Association. I haven't selected the charity for March yet though so if you have an idea, let's hear it :)
