Exploring Handmade ~ Holiday Shopping Event ~ Day 11

Hello and Welcome to Day 11 of the
Exploring Handmade Online Holiday Shopping Event!!

So... are you exhausted, tired and achy from all your Black Friday shopping? Well then you'll be glad to know that today is all about Pampering, Relaxation and Indulgence. So sit back, put your feet up and I'm going to introduce you to some wonderful artisans who will delight your senses.

First let's meet Faye and Lesli from Ye Olde Chandler...
Why Ye Olde Chandler?
In medieval days a candle manufacturer was known as a chandler, and Lesli being a medieval buff Ye Olde Chandler seemed to be a natural name for our business.

We are a mother and daughter team living in Texas, Faye and Lesli, who began making a small assortment of candles in Lesli's kitchen during lunch breaks in 2004. We quickly grew to offering over 80 scents, added handmade soap, and branched out onto the internet! We like that our products have that natural quality and that soy wax not only burns cleaner but supports American farmers.

How or why did we start our business?
We always enjoyed going to craft malls and antique stores together. One day while we were browsing one such shop we noticed a few different candle kiosks. After looking over the products, I'm not sure who said it first, but one of us mentioned that we could make our own, save money and probably make them better than the ones we'd been looking at. It all kind of built from there! All of our candle and soap products are handmade by the two of us.

We hand pour container candles, votives and wax melts as well as many varieties of soap. We also occasionally have special, limited stock items such as tart burners and crock candles.

Lesli's favorite product to make is soap, so she specializes in those products. She also has a special place in her heart for Lemon Pucker candles as that was the first scent we ever made and it always brings back happy memories. Faye specializes in candles and scent development and is always on the lookout for new scents to add to our collection.

Now let's meet Cory Trusty of Antiquarian Bath...
I make all natural soaps and herbal products from scratch. My items are scented with pure essential oils and colored with herbs or clays. I never use fragrance (synthetic) oils or dyes in my products. I offer many vegan items including the gift sets in attached soap/ soap Christmas ornament gift sets.

And we have Wally Mosley of Corn Sootherz
Microwavable Heating Pads...
I’m a wife and a mother and I have 4 adult children, three boys and one girl. My husband is a nut, but I’m keeping him. Ummm’-maybe, - just kidding I love him dearly…he’s my best friend.

I LOVE TO SEW!!!...I always have. After becoming an adult, from time to time I would have headaches. My Corn Sootherz were born out of my pain, my need to find a simple way to ease my discomfort. And over time, as my friends would see mine, they would ask if I would make them one… or some. It has just grown. I truly enjoy serving in this way and getting paid to do it…
is just a plus!

We have Kayla Scott of Soyrendipity Candles...
My name is Kayla, I'm a single Mother of a beautiful three year old boy. Being his mom has brought me so much joy! After putting him to bed every night I needed something to do, a hobby, so that is when I started making my 100% Pure Soy candles. I have my own little critic as my son comes up to me and says "Pretty candle mom, what kind is it?" and then he tells me if it smells good or not .:) I get great satisfaction out of each candle I make and refuse to sell anything that I am not happy with. I'll stay up all hours of the night until I am satisfied with the final product. I hope you get as much joy out of my candles as I do making them! Go Green and Discover the Scents of the Soy!

You can find Kayla and order her candles on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/soyrendipity

And we have Teresa Rojas of Key West by Palms Soaps...
I make handmade glycerin soap products…something for everyone; men, women and children. Once you use handmade you will never go back to store bought soaps. We do custom soaps or gift bags for schools, weddings, birthday parties, etc. and also offer wholesale.

We have Crystal Lewis of Wolf Creek Creations...
I am a SAHM of 2 girls (ages 2 & 3). I started making jelly in December 2010 and with the help of my husband, have come up with flavors that you cannot find anywhere else. Whoever knew that you could eat chocolate covered cherry jelly!

Doesn't this Apple Pie Jelly look delicious???

You can find Crystal and her jellies on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/wolfcreekcreations

And we have Pia and Kathleen Kayo of Cake Pop Fusion...
We are a mother-daughter team creating custom cake pops, treats, and small gifts for all occasions. We are located in Southern California and ship all over the USA. 10% of our profits are donated to the Intracranial Hypertension Research Foundation (www.IHRFoundation.org) in the hopes of finding a cure for the brain disease from which my daughter and so many others suffer.

In addition to Cake Pops, they also offer Sugar Scrubs and Bath Salts

And, last but not least, we have Debbie and Dawn of
DeDa Studios...
Welcome inside the lives of DeDa Studios... designers of original Glass Art and Smelly Jellies! Join us in our life adventure...art/craft fairs, blogs, facebook, life, family, product reviews, "GREEN" living and everything in between. Almost forgot... we are two generations of SAHM's! Mother and Daughter Team taking on the world! The Glass Lady and The Smelly Girl!

Dawn makes Smelly Jellies. These are a "green" way to scent your home. All you do is add water. They last 3-6 months. And we offer a recycle program with our jars.

Debbie makes broken Glass Art. Each piece is unique and original...no two are the same. Photos of glass items are examples... all items are made to order. My trees for instance are made from broken Jagermeister bottles. I break the bottle - with the broken Jager glass I design the tree. Once the glass tree is designed I heat the tree for approx. 12 hours at 1400 degrees to turn the broken pieces of Jager glass into one solid piece of glass. When the broken bottle glass is heated to 1400 degrees the edges of the pieces are rounded by the heat. No sharp edges on the tree!

Hopefully you've found some wonderful ways to pamper and spoil yourself and the ones you love! I'll be back tomorrow with some more awesome gift ideas!

Did you miss a day? It's easy to get caught up... we wouldn't want you to miss any goodies!!
